Pulse Survey

A pulse survey is a short, frequent survey used to monitor user sentiment, satisfaction, or experience on an ongoing basis, capturing how users feel at regular intervals rather than in a single large study conducted once a year.

The "pulse" metaphor is apt. Just as a pulse check gives a continuous reading of health rather than a one-time snapshot, a pulse survey gives a continuous reading of user experience rather than a periodic study. You can see trends as they develop rather than discovering shifts only after they've become significant problems that are already affecting retention or NPS.

They're most effective for tracking overall satisfaction trends over time, monitoring the impact of product changes on user experience, identifying sentiment shifts in specific user segments, and maintaining a continuous signal on how the product feels to use, not just whether users can complete tasks, but whether they want to keep coming back.
