Validation Testing
Validation testing is the process of confirming through user research that a design, feature, or product meets its intended purpose and delivers the expected experience for the target user. It answers the question: Does this work the way we intended it to?
Validation studies present users with a design and evaluate it against specific success criteria, usability benchmarks, satisfaction thresholds, task completion targets, or conceptual resonance. Unlike exploratory research (which discovers what users need), validation research confirms whether a specific solution effectively addresses that need.
